Having bad credit is dreadful. It is the same as someone stamping a big sign on your forehead stating "Do not give this person any money or service". Having bad credit does not necessarily mean that you will have no chance of applying for a loan or using some sort of billing service. You may still be able to get some sort of approval but it will come a price. You will either have to place a large down payment or pay higher than normal interest rates. Also the cost of time is a factor since many companies will simply ignore you because of your credit history, therefore you will spend days and nights searching for someone to actually approve you. If you have bad credit, always read the fine print on any kind of applications or forms.

If you suffer from bad credit do not despair. Many items listed in your report expire after some time, this will take many years but if you keep a clean record, you can eventually get back to building your credit back up. A good way to rebuild some of your credit is to apply for a secure credit card. These act like regular credit cards except they have limits depending on the amount you have on deposit.

If your report contains inaccurate information you can dispute the claims due to the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
